This is the story of us....
Hi,
We are Penny and John, living in London with two young girls. We love to travel (although less so now with the girls on the scene) and in 2009 we took a year out of working and building houseboats to drive from London to Sydney, exploring 22 extrodinary countries en route. As we moved through Asia, we saw how the cities there tackle mobility on a mass scale and were impressed even back then at how advanced electric motorcycle technology was and thought how far ahead of the game these countries were.
Fast forward 10 years and the initial idea for our business came about from our own experiences in searching for an electric motorbike. We were London commuters, using our bikes daily to get into the office in central London.
In April 2019 the Ultra low Emmissions Zone (ULEZ) came into force which meant that John's old 1998 SV650 motorcycle didn't comply and had to go. The conclusion was to join the electric mobility revolution already taking off in the car industry and upgrade to an electric motorbike.
His extensive research into (and often iritating moaning about the cost of) electric bikes currently available in the UK with their slow speed and low range led him to look to Asia for an better option.
In 2019 we imported the 'Volpe' electric motorcycle.
I was half expecting little bike just big enough for our girls to ride around on but was taken aback to see a rather impressive motorcycle.
Since then John has spent many a weekend tinkering, pulling it apart and rebuilding it again satisfying his curiosity and just because he likes tinkering.....
He has been so impressed with the motorcycle and he has become a passionate believer that it can provide the answer to avoiding the ULEZ charge and overcrowded London transport, whilst also equalling or sometimes out performing some electric motorcycles on the market at a fraction of the price.
It took longer to convince me to get on board, but John's perseverence got me in the end.
On the pretence of a romantic weekend away in Milan with no kids John took me to the EICMA Motorcycle exhibition where we met the Electric Motorcycle manufacturer and saw some of the models they produce. We were impressed both with th build quality of the machine and the sincerity of the staff.
And so, the idea was born to introduce reasonaby priced, quality Electric Motorcycles to the UK.
